Present Perfect vs Present Perfect Continuous
Di akhir lesson ini, kamu bisa:
- Memilih Present Perfect untuk hasil/jumlah yang selesai dan Present Perfect Continuous untuk durasi/proses.
- Menggunakan 'how much/how many' vs 'how long' untuk membedakan keduanya.
- Membedakan 'I've written 3 reports' dan 'I've been writing reports all day'.
Inti Perbedaan
Keduanya menghubungkan masa lalu dengan sekarang. Bedanya: Present Perfect menekankan hasil yang sudah selesai dan berapa banyak (how much/how many). Present Perfect Continuous menekankan durasi dan prosesnya: aktivitas itu sendiri, sering masih berlangsung (how long).
| Present Perfect | Present Perfect Continuous | |
|---|---|---|
| Bentuk | have/has + V3 | have/has + been + V-ing |
| Fokus | hasil, penyelesaian, jumlah | durasi, proses, aktivitas |
| Pertanyaan | how much / how many | how long |
| Selesai? | biasanya sudah selesai | sering masih berlangsung |
| Contoh | I 've written 3 reports. | I 've been writing reports all day. |
Kapan Pakai Present Perfect
- Hasil yang selesai dan terlihat sekarang:
I 've finished the presentation. (hasilnya siap)
- Jumlah / kuantitas (how much / how many):
She has sent twelve emails today.
- Pencapaian / penyelesaian tugas:
We 've completed the first phase.
- Stative verbs (know, be, have, own): selalu bentuk ini:
I 've known her for ten years. (bukan
been knowing)
Kapan Pakai Present Perfect Continuous
- Durasi sebuah aktivitas (how long):
I 've been working here for five years.
- Aktivitas yang masih berlangsung sekarang:
She 's been studying all morning (dan masih belajar).
- Menekankan prosesnya, bukan hasilnya:
They 've been planning the event for weeks.
- Menjelaskan situasi sekarang dari aktivitas baru-baru ini:
You look tired.: Yes, I 've been running.
Bandingkan Langsung
Minimal pairs: hasil vs proses:
"I 've written three reports." → fokus jumlah/hasil (selesai = 3). "I 've been writing reports all day." → fokus durasi/aktivitas (mungkin belum selesai).
"She has read the whole book." → selesai membaca. "She has been reading that book." → masih dalam proses membaca.
"We 've painted the office." → pekerjaannya selesai. "We 've been painting the office." → menjelaskan kenapa berantakan/ada bau cat (proses).
"How many emails have you sent?" → menanyakan jumlah → Present Perfect. "How long have you been sending emails?" → menanyakan durasi → Continuous.
