Talking Strategy & Vision
Di akhir lesson ini, kamu bisa:
- Mengartikulasikan visi dan misi jangka panjang dengan register kepemimpinan yang meyakinkan.
- Menghubungkan tindakan operasional sehari-hari dengan strategi besar (the bigger picture).
1. Menyatakan visi & misi
Visi adalah gambaran masa depan; misi adalah alasan keberadaan organisasi. Gunakan struktur yang lugas namun ambisius:
| Fungsi | Ungkapan | Nuansa |
|---|---|---|
| Visi jangka panjang | Our long-term vision is to... | Aspiratif, masa depan |
| Misi inti | Our mission is to... / We exist to... | Tujuan fundamental |
| Posisi strategis | We are strategically positioned to... | Keunggulan + kesiapan |
| Arah | This sets the direction for... | Memandu keputusan turunan |
2. Menghubungkan tindakan ke strategi (aligning actions)
Pemimpin yang efektif selalu mengaitkan pekerjaan kecil dengan tujuan besar. Pakai frasa penghubung:
- This initiative directly supports our long-term vision.
- Let's make sure this aligns with the bigger picture.
- How does this feed into our overall strategy?
💡 Catatan register: hindari "I think maybe we should..." di forum strategis. Gunakan struktur cleft untuk penekanan: "What matters most here is our ability to scale." Ini terdengar jauh lebih tegas dan kepemimpinan.
3. Memperhalus klaim (hedging)
Bahkan saat tegas, pemimpin menyisakan ruang nuansa: "This positions us well to respond...", "Arguably, our strongest play is...". Hedging yang elegan menandakan kematangan, bukan keraguan.
Examples (English)
"Our long-term vision is to redefine how mid-sized firms access capital: not just to be another lender."
"We are strategically positioned to lead this shift, but only if we stop optimising for the quarter and start investing in the bigger picture."
"Before we debate the details, let's anchor everyone to the guiding principle behind this: every decision should align with sustainable growth."
"What we need to focus on is our value proposition: that's where our real competitive edge lies."

Setting direction at a leadership offsite
Before we get into numbers, I want us to align on the bigger picture. Our long-term vision is to be the default platform for regional SMEs within five years.
Agreed. The question is how today's roadmap feeds into that. Right now, half our initiatives don't clearly align with it.
Exactly my concern. We are strategically positioned to win this market, but only if every team sees how their work supports the vision.
Then what we need to focus on is sharpening the value proposition first. That's our real competitive edge.
