Inversion
Di akhir lesson ini, kamu bisa:
- Membalik subjek dan auxiliary setelah adverbial negatif yang diletakkan di awal kalimat.
- Menggunakan pola 'Not only ... but also ...' dan 'Hardly ... when ...' dengan benar.
- Membentuk conditional inversion tanpa 'if' (mis. 'Had I known ...').
Bentuk & Aturan
Inversion adalah membalik urutan normal (subjek + kata kerja) menjadi auxiliary + subjek, persis seperti dalam pertanyaan. Inversion dipakai untuk penekanan dramatis dan register formal, bukan untuk percakapan santai sehari-hari.
Ada dua jenis utama yang perlu kamu kuasai di level Advanced:
1. Setelah adverbial negatif/pembatas di awal kalimat. Jika frasa negatif seperti Never, Rarely, Not only, Hardly, No sooner, Under no circumstances dipindah ke depan, subjek dan auxiliary wajib dibalik.

Catatan penting:
- Jika tidak ada auxiliary, sisipkan do/does/did: Rarely do clients complain.
- Not only ... but also: dua bagian, klausa pertama dibalik, but di klausa kedua.
- Hardly/No sooner: dipasangkan dengan when/than, dan biasanya pakai past perfect.
2. Conditional inversion (tanpa "if"). Dalam tulisan formal, if boleh dihilangkan dengan membalik auxiliary ke depan: Had, Were, atau Should.

- Memberi penekanan dramatis pada hal yang luar biasa (positif/negatif):
Never have I received such professional service.
- Register formal dalam tulisan, pidato, atau email bisnis:
Under no circumstances should confidential data be shared externally.
- Menyusun dua poin yang saling menguatkan dengan Not only ... but also:
Not only did the team hit the deadline, but they also exceeded the target.
- Menyatakan urutan kejadian yang sangat cepat:
No sooner had we launched than the orders started coming in.
- Conditional formal/sopan tanpa "if":
Should you require further details, please don't hesitate to ask.
Examples (English)
Never before have we faced a challenge quite like this one. Not only is the proposal cheaper, but it is also faster to implement. Hardly had the CEO finished speaking when the questions began. Had I known about the deadline change, I would have adjusted the plan.

Kesalahan Umum
- ❌ "Never I have seen this before." → ✅ "Never have I seen this before." (auxiliary harus di depan subjek, bukan setelahnya).
- ❌ "Rarely they complain about it." → ✅ "Rarely do they complain about it." (sisipkan do/does/did bila tak ada auxiliary).
- ❌ "Not only we saved money, but also time." → ✅ "Not only did we save money, but we also saved time." (klausa pertama wajib dibalik).
- ❌ "If had I known, I would have called." → ✅ "Had I known, I would have called." (conditional inversion menggantikan if; jangan pakai keduanya).
