Advanced Conditionals & Hedging
Di akhir lesson ini, kamu bisa:
- Membentuk conditional formal dengan were to, should you, dan inversi (Had we known...).
- Memakai provided that, as long as, unless, dan supposing untuk mengatur syarat.
- Melembutkan pernyataan tegas dengan hedging diplomatik (it would seem, somewhat, tend to).
Bentuk & Aturan
Di tingkat lanjut, conditional tidak berhenti di pola if. Ada bentuk yang lebih formal, hipotetis, atau diplomatik. Yang utama: were to, should you, dan inversi (tanpa if).

Selain itu, sejumlah konjungsi mengatur syarat dengan nuansa berbeda:

Hedging = melembutkan pernyataan agar terdengar sopan, hati-hati, tidak terlalu mutlak:

Examples (English)
Were the figures to change, we'd revisit the forecast immediately. We're happy to extend the trial, provided that usage stays within the cap. We can't release the update unless QA signs off. It would seem there's been a slight misunderstanding about the scope.

Negotiating a contract politely

That sounds reasonable, as long as everything is documented.
Kesalahan Umum
- ❌ "Unless you don't reply, we'll proceed." → ✅ "Unless you reply, we'll proceed." (unless sudah berarti if not; jangan dobel negatif)
- ❌ "Should you needed help, call me." → ✅ "Should you need help, call me." (setelah Should pakai bentuk dasar)
- ❌ "If we were to known earlier..." → ✅ "Had we known earlier..." / "If we had known..." (inversi pakai Had + past participle)
- ❌ "Provided that you will pay on time, ..." → ✅ "Provided that you pay on time, ..." (setelah provided that pakai present, bukan will)
