Social Events & Follow-up

Penjelasan (ID)

Acara sosial profesional: gala dinner, after-party konferensi, makan siang bisnis: punya aturan tak tertulis. Menguasainya membedakan orang yang sekadar hadir dari orang yang membangun relasi.

1. Etiket acara & dinner. Beberapa prinsip kunci:

  • Mingle, jangan menempel. Berbaurlah; jangan menghabiskan seluruh malam dengan satu orang.
  • Dengarkan lebih banyak daripada bicara. Pertanyaan yang baik lebih berkesan daripada monolog.
  • Hati-hati dengan alkohol & topik sensitif (politik, gaji, gosip). Tetap hangat tapi profesional.
  • Kenalkan orang satu sama lain. "Pak Budi, you should meet Sari: you're both wrestling with cold-chain logistics."

2. Graceful exits: keluar percakapan dengan anggun. Ini keterampilan yang sering diabaikan. Akhiri dengan apresiasi + alasan ringan + langkah berikut:

"It's been lovely chatting: I won't keep you, but let's definitely continue this over email."

TujuanFrasa pamit yang anggun
Membebaskan lawan bicara"I won't keep you: I'm sure you've got people to see."
Memberi alasan ringan"I'm just going to grab a refill, but it was great to meet you."
Menjanjikan kelanjutan"Let's pick this up properly: I'll drop you a line next week."
Menutup hangat"Really glad we crossed paths tonight."

3. Follow-up yang mengubah kontak jadi relasi. Follow-up yang generik ("Nice to meet you") cepat dilupakan. Yang berhasil bersifat spesifik dan personal: rujuk sesuatu yang benar-benar kalian bicarakan, dalam 24-48 jam.

"Hi Lina: it was great to connect at the summit dinner last night. I haven't stopped thinking about your point on subscription churn. As promised, here's the case study I mentioned: I'd love to keep the conversation going."

Tip: Rumus follow-up yang kuat: referensi spesifik + nilai yang dijanjikan + ajakan terbuka. Sebut detail nyata (titik dalam pembicaraan, nama tempat) agar kamu langsung diingat.

Examples (English)

"It's been lovely chatting, but I won't monopolise your evening: let's pick this up over coffee next week."

"Pak Yusuf, you really should meet Dewi: you're both tackling last-mile delivery from opposite ends."

"It was great to connect at the dinner last night. As promised, I'm attaching the report we discussed."

"I won't keep you, but I'm genuinely glad we crossed paths: I'll drop you a line once I'm back in Surabaya."

Sari

I've really enjoyed this, but I won't keep you. I'm sure there are people you want to catch.

Likewise. Before you go, though, you mentioned a churn model that actually works. Could you send it over?

Sari

Of course. I'll drop you a line tomorrow with the case study attached.

Perfect. And let me introduce you to Priya before you leave. She's wrestling with the exact same problem.
