Describing Your Workspace

Di akhir lesson ini, kamu bisa:

Mendeskripsikan benda di meja kerja dengan 'There is a ... on my desk'.
Menggunakan possessive: my, our, your.
Menanyakan letak benda dengan 'Where is the...?'.

🔁 Ingat lagi: dari modul sebelumnya: check emails (memeriksa email), every day (setiap hari), break (istirahat). Kita pakai lagi di contoh dan dialog saat mendeskripsikan rutinitas di meja kerja.

Penjelasan (ID)

Sekarang gabungkan There is/are (Lesson 1) dengan possessive untuk mendeskripsikan meja kerjamu sendiri.

Possessive adjective (kata milik):

your	milik kamu / Anda	Is this your mouse?
our	milik kami / kita	Our meeting room is upstairs.

Possessive selalu diikuti kata benda: my laptop, your chair, our office. Jangan pakai sendirian.

Beda possessive adjective vs possessive pronoun. Kata seperti my/your/our harus diikuti benda. Tapi ada bentuk yang berdiri sendiri (tanpa benda): mine/yours/ours.

This is my mouse. (my + benda) → This mouse is mine. (mine berdiri sendiri)
Is this your charger? → Is this charger yours?

Mendeskripsikan meja kerja:

There is a monitor on my desk.
There are two pens in my drawer.
My keyboard and my mouse are next to the monitor.

Menanyakan letak benda:

Where is the stapler? → It's on your desk.
Where is my charger? → It's in the drawer.

Preposisi yang sering dipakai di meja: on (di atas), in (di dalam), under (di bawah).

💡 Tips: Bahasa Inggris memilih possessive berdasarkan pemilik, bukan jenis kelamin benda. Jadi tetap my desk / your desk apa pun bendanya. Saat menyambut colleague baru, ungkapan ramah seperti "This is your desk. Make yourself at home." terdengar hangat dan natural.

Kesalahan Umum

❌ "This is my." → ✅ "This is mine." / "This is my mouse." (possessive my harus diikuti benda; yang bisa berdiri sendiri adalah mine)
❌ "Where are my charger?" → ✅ "Where is my charger?" (satu benda pakai Where is)
❌ "The laptop is in my desk." → ✅ "The laptop is on my desk." (di atas permukaan pakai on, in berarti di dalam laci)
❌ "Is this charger your?" → ✅ "Is this charger yours?" (di akhir kalimat tanpa benda, pakai bentuk yours, bukan your)
