Locations in the Office
Di akhir lesson ini, kamu bisa:
- Menyebut nama ruangan utama di kantor.
- Menggunakan preposisi tempat: next to, behind, in front of, between, opposite.
- Menjelaskan dan menanyakan letak suatu ruangan atau benda.
🔁 Ingat lagi: dari modul sebelumnya: building (gedung), colleague (rekan kerja), department (departemen). Kita pakai lagi di contoh dan dialog untuk memberi arah.
Penjelasan (ID)
Untuk memberi arah di kantor, kita butuh dua hal: nama ruangan dan preposisi tempat (kata yang menunjukkan letak).
Ruangan di kantor:

Preposisi tempat (di mana?):

Hati-hati: between dipakai untuk dua benda → between A and B. Untuk lebih dari dua, pakai among.
Beda "in front of" vs "opposite":
- in front of = di depan (di sisi muka sesuatu, menghadap arah yang sama). The car is in front of the building.
- opposite = di seberang / berhadapan (saling berhadapan, ada jarak/lorong di antaranya). The pantry is opposite the lift.
Catatan preposisi lantai & arah: untuk lantai pakai on → on the second floor (bukan in the second floor). Untuk di dalam ruangan pakai in → in the meeting room.
Menanyakan lokasi:
- Where is the meeting room? → It's next to reception.
- Where are the toilets? → They're opposite the lift.
💡 Tips: Saat menjawab tamu atau colleague baru, lebih sopan dan jelas memberi arah lengkap: "It's on the third floor, next to the lift: you can't miss it." Frasa you can't miss it terdengar ramah dan umum di kantor.

Kesalahan Umum
- ❌ "Where is the toilets?" → ✅ "Where are the toilets?" (benda jamak pakai Where are)
- ❌ "My desk is in the second floor." → ✅ "My desk is on the second floor." (untuk lantai pakai on, bukan in)
- ❌ "The pantry is between the lift." → ✅ "The pantry is between the lift and the stairs." (between butuh dua benda: between A and B)
- ❌ "Reception is in front the door." → ✅ "Reception is in front of the door." (frasa lengkapnya in front of, tidak boleh hilang of)
