Managing a Crisis
| Tahap | Tujuan | Frasa kunci |
|---|---|---|
| S: Seriousness | Tunjukkan Anda paham bobot situasinya | We are taking this extremely seriously. |
| A: Accountability | Ambil tanggung jawab, jangan menyalahkan | We take full responsibility for... |
| R: Response/next steps | Beri langkah konkret yang sedang dijalankan | Here is exactly what we are doing... |
| A: Assurance | Janjikan transparansi berkelanjutan | We will keep you fully informed. |
Prinsip bahasa yang krusial:
- Tenang mengalahkan defensif. Kalimat pendek dan kata kerja aktif (we are doing, we have launched) terdengar lebih menguasai keadaan daripada kalimat panjang yang berbelit.
- Voice aktif untuk akuntabilitas. Bandingkan "We take full responsibility" (kuat) dengan "Mistakes were made" (pasif, mengelak). Di tingkat lanjut, suara pasif yang menyembunyikan pelaku adalah sinyal bahaya.
- Spesifik, bukan kosong. "We are addressing this" harus diikuti apa persisnya: tim, tindakan, dan tenggat.
- Jangan berjanji yang belum pasti. Gunakan "Our current understanding is..." atau "What we know so far..." agar tidak terjebak jika fakta berubah.
💡 Akuntabilitas ≠ pengakuan kesalahan hukum yang gegabah. Anda bisa berkata "We take responsibility for putting this right" tanpa menyatakan kesalahan formal. Pilih kata yang menunjukkan kepemilikan masalah dan tekad memperbaikinya.
Examples (English)
"We are taking this matter extremely seriously, and I want to address it with you directly."
"Let me be clear about accountability: the responsibility for putting this right sits with us, and with me."
"Here is exactly what we are doing. We've isolated the affected systems, we've brought in independent specialists, and we expect a full picture within 48 hours."
"We will keep you fully informed at every stage. You'll hear from us with facts, not speculation, and you'll hear it here first."

Dialogue
Responding to a service outage
I'll come straight to the point: we are taking this outage extremely seriously.
Customers are saying you were slow to respond. Who is responsible?
We take full responsibility. I'm not going to hide behind 'mistakes were made': this sits with us.
So what are you actually doing about it?
Three things, right now: we've restored core services, we're auditing the root cause with independent experts, and we'll publish our findings within a week.
We will keep everyone fully informed. You'll get facts from us first, not speculation.
