Interrupting & Clarifying
Di akhir lesson ini, kamu bisa:
- Menyela pembicaraan secara sopan untuk menambahkan poin.
- Meminta klarifikasi ketika ada hal yang kurang jelas.
- Mengonfirmasi pemahaman dengan frasa baku.
Penjelasan (ID)
Dalam rapat, kadang kamu perlu menyela untuk menambahkan sesuatu, atau bertanya ketika ada hal yang belum jelas. Lakukan dengan frasa sopan agar tidak terkesan memotong kasar.
1. Menyela dengan sopan. Selalu minta izin atau minta maaf dulu:
- Sorry to interrupt, but... I think we missed something.
- Could I just add one thing?
- Can I come in here? I have a point on this.
Saat seseorang ingin menyela, kamu bisa mempersilakan: Yes, go ahead.
2. Meminta klarifikasi. Kalau ada yang kurang jelas, jangan diam saja:

Tip: What exactly do you mean by...? diikuti kata/frasa yang ingin diperjelas, biasanya dalam tanda kutip: ...mean by "flexible"?
3. Mengonfirmasi pemahaman. Sebelum melanjutkan, pastikan kamu dan lawan bicara sepaham:
- Just to confirm, the deadline is Friday, right?
- So, in other words, we need more budget.
- Let me make sure I understand. You mean...?
Catatan: Just to confirm + kalimat, sering ditutup dengan right? untuk mengundang konfirmasi.
