Future Simple
Di akhir lesson ini, kamu bisa:
- Membentuk kalimat positif, negatif, dan tanya dengan will + kata kerja dasar.
- Membedakan kapan memakai will untuk prediksi, janji, tawaran, dan keputusan spontan.
- Mengenali kapan sebaiknya memakai 'going to' alih-alih 'will'.
Bentuk (Form)
Future Simple sangat sederhana: pakai will + kata kerja dasar (base verb). Bentuknya sama untuk semua subjek (I, you, he, she, we, they): tidak ada tambahan -s, tidak ada to.

Catatan penting:
- Short form (+): I'll, you'll, he'll, she'll, we'll, they'll → "I'll send it now."
- Short form (−): will not = won't → "He won't agree."
- Setelah will selalu kata kerja dasar: ❌ will to go, ❌ will goes → ✅ will go.
- Jawaban singkat: "Will you come?" → "Yes, I will." / "No, I won't."
Kapan Dipakai (Usage)
- Prediksi (perkiraan tentang masa depan, sering dengan I think, probably, maybe):
I think it will rain this afternoon.
- Janji (sering dengan I promise):
I will pay you back on Friday, I promise.
- Tawaran & bantuan (menawarkan sesuatu saat itu juga):
That bag looks heavy. I 'll carry it for you.
- Keputusan spontan (diputuskan saat bicara, bukan rencana sebelumnya):
The phone is ringing: I 'll get it.
- Permintaan sopan:
Will you send me the address, please?
💡 will vs going to: pakai will untuk keputusan spontan, janji, dan prediksi tanpa bukti; pakai going to untuk rencana yang sudah dipikirkan atau prediksi dengan bukti sekarang ("Look at those clouds: it's going to rain."). Detail lengkap ada di lesson "Will vs Going to" di folder perbandingan.
Penanda Waktu (Time Markers / Signal Words)
- tomorrow → I'll see you tomorrow.
- tonight → We'll decide tonight.
- next week / next month / next year → They'll launch it next month.
- soon → The bus will arrive soon.
- later → I'll call you later.
- I think / probably / maybe (penanda prediksi) → She'll probably be late.
Examples (English)
Don't worry about the dishes: I**'ll wash** them. I think our sales will grow next quarter. Will you be at the meeting tomorrow? He won't sign the contract without his lawyer.

Kesalahan Umum (Common Mistakes)
- ❌ "I will to call you." → ✅ "I will call you." (setelah will langsung kata kerja dasar, tanpa to)
- ❌ "She will helps us." → ✅ "She will help us." (tidak ada -s setelah will)
- ❌ "I will not coming." → ✅ "I won't come." (pakai kata kerja dasar, bukan -ing)
- ❌ "We will buy a house next year." (untuk rencana yang sudah pasti) → lebih alami: ✅ "We are going to buy a house next year." (rencana → going to)
