Starting a Phone Call

Di akhir lesson ini, kamu bisa:

  • Memperkenalkan diri di awal panggilan telepon secara profesional.
  • Meminta untuk berbicara dengan orang tertentu.
  • Menyambungkan penelepon ke orang atau bagian lain.

Penjelasan (ID)

Saat menelepon dalam konteks kerja, ada pola pembuka yang baku dan sopan. Yang penting: identitas diri, alasan menelepon, dan permintaan untuk bicara dengan orang yang dituju.

1. Memperkenalkan diri. Di telepon, kita memakai This is..., bukan I am.... Sertakan nama dan asal perusahaan/bagian.

  • Hello, this is Sari from Finance.: Halo, ini Sari dari bagian Keuangan.

2. Meminta bicara dengan seseorang. Gunakan Can I speak to...? (santai) atau Could I speak to...? (lebih sopan).

  • Could I speak to Mr. Tan, please?: Bisa saya bicara dengan Pak Tan?

3. Menjawab saat kamu yang dituju. Jika penelepon mencari kamu sendiri, cukup jawab singkat: Speaking. (= "Ya, saya sendiri").

4. Menyambungkan panggilan. Jika kamu menjawab telepon untuk orang lain, kamu bisa mengalihkannya dengan put someone through atau transfer.

💡 Tips: One moment, please dan Hold on, please sama-sama berarti "tunggu sebentar". Keduanya sopan dan umum dipakai di kantor.
