Confirming & Changing Plans
1. Mengonfirmasi (setuju)
Frasa singkat ini menunjukkan rencana sudah disepakati:
| Frasa | Nuansa |
|---|---|
| That works (for me). | Cocok / bisa |
| Sounds good. | Oke, setuju (santai) |
| That's fine. | Tidak masalah |
| Perfect, see you then. | Sangat cocok, sampai jumpa |
2. Mengubah rencana
Gunakan Can we...? atau Could we...? (lebih sopan) + kata kerja perubahan:
- reschedule = menjadwal ulang → Can we reschedule to Thursday?
- postpone = menunda ke waktu lebih lambat → Could we postpone until next week?
- bring (it) forward = memajukan ke waktu lebih awal → Can we bring the meeting forward to 9?
Perhatikan: postpone = mundur (lebih lambat), bring forward = maju (lebih awal). Jangan tertukar!
3. Menolak / membatalkan dengan sopan
Selalu beri alasan singkat dan tawarkan alternatif:
- I'm afraid I can't make it on Friday: it clashes with another meeting.
- Sorry, something has come up. Can we reschedule?
Kata I'm afraid... membuat penolakan terdengar lebih halus dan profesional.
Examples (English)
"Tuesday at 10? That works for me." "I'm afraid I can't make it at 3: it clashes with a client call." "Could we postpone the review until next Monday?" "Can we bring the meeting forward to 9 instead of 11?"

So, our call is at 2 p.m. tomorrow. Does that still work?

No problem. Can we reschedule to 4 p.m.?
Could we bring it forward to 11 a.m. instead? My afternoon is full.
