Days, Dates & Schedules
Di akhir lesson ini, kamu bisa:
- Menyebut hari dalam seminggu dan bulan dalam setahun.
- Membaca dan menulis tanggal dengan ordinal numbers.
- Menggunakan preposisi waktu on, in, at dengan benar.
๐ Ingat lagi: dari Modul 1: "Nice to meet you" (senang berkenalan) dan "Take care" (jaga diri/hati-hati). Frasa ini cocok untuk membuka dan menutup percakapan saat mengatur janji temu.
Penjelasan (ID)
Hari (days): Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Weekdays = Senin-Jumat, weekend = Sabtu-Minggu. (Selalu huruf kapital di Inggris!)
Bulan (months): January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December. (Juga huruf kapital.)
Tanggal pakai ordinal numbers:
| Angka | Ordinal | Angka | Ordinal |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | first (1st) | 5 | fifth |
| 2 | second (2nd) | 12 | twelfth |
| 3 | third (3rd) | 20 | twentieth |
| 4 | fourth (4th) | 21 | twenty-first |
Membaca tanggal: the 3rd of May (UK) atau May 3rd (US). Ditulis: 3 May 2026 (UK) / May 3, 2026 (US).
๐ก Tips: Format angka tanggal berbeda di UK dan US! 03/04/2026 = 3 April (UK) tapi 4 Maret (US). Untuk menghindari salah paham di email kerja internasional, tulis bulannya: 3 April 2026 atau April 3, 2026.
Preposisi waktu: penting di dunia kerja:
- at + jam/titik waktu โ at 9 o'clock, at noon, at the weekend (UK)
- on + hari/tanggal โ on Monday, on the 5th, on Friday morning
- in + bulan/tahun/periode โ in June, in 2026, in the morning, in the third quarter
Catatan register:
- Di email formal: "I am available on Tuesday" atau "Would Tuesday suit you?"
- Di chat santai: "Tuesday works!" / "Tuesday good for you?"
- "ASAP" (as soon as possible) umum di kantor, tapi terdengar agak menuntut: lebih halus: "at your earliest convenience".
Edge-case: untuk next/last/this + hari, JANGAN pakai preposisi: on next Monday โ next Monday (โ).
Examples (English)
"The deadline is on Friday, the 14th of June." "Are you available on Tuesday at 10 am?" "Let me check my schedule... Yes, I'm free in the afternoon." "Nice to meet you. Shall we set up an appointment on the 20th?" "We launched the project in 2026 and the next review is next Monday." "Take care, and I'll send the calendar invite on Monday morning."
