Di akhir lesson ini, kamu bisa:
- Menyebutkan kota lokasi kantor dengan 'Our office is in...' dan 'We're based in...'.
- Menyebutkan lantai kantor dengan 'on the 3rd floor'.
- Membedakan headquarters (kantor pusat) dan branch (cabang).
🔁 Ingat lagi: dari Modul 2: "appointment" (janji temu) & "What time is it?" (jam berapa sekarang). Saat klien datang ke kantor, Anda menggabungkan lokasi + waktu janji temu.
Penjelasan (ID)
Untuk menjelaskan di mana Anda bekerja, ada beberapa pola sederhana: kota, lantai, dan apakah itu kantor pusat atau cabang.
1. Kota: "Our office is in..." / "We're based in..."
Gunakan in sebelum nama kota.

💡 "We're based in..." berarti perusahaan/tim Anda berpusat di kota itu: sedikit lebih formal dan umum dalam bisnis.
2. Lantai: "on the ... floor"
Gunakan on + angka ordinal (1st, 2nd, 3rd...) + floor.

Contoh: "Our office is on the 3rd floor."
3. Kantor pusat vs cabang
- headquarters (sering disingkat HQ) = kantor pusat: lokasi utama perusahaan.
- branch = cabang: kantor lain di kota/tempat berbeda.

💡 Tips: headquarters selalu berakhiran -s, tapi bisa dianggap tunggal atau jamak. Di bisnis modern lebih lazim jamak: "Our headquarters are in Jakarta." Singkatan HQ dieja "aitch-kyu".
4. Catatan register & preposisi
- in / on / at. Pakai in untuk kota & negara (in Jakarta), on untuk lantai (on the 3rd floor), dan at untuk alamat/patokan spesifik (at 25 Sudirman Street, at the main entrance).
- "based in" lebih formal. Cocok untuk profil perusahaan & email: "We're based in Surabaya." Dalam obrolan santai cukup "Our office is in Surabaya."
- Edge-case lantai. Di British English, lantai dasar disebut the ground floor, lalu lantai berikutnya the first floor. Di American English, lantai dasar = the first floor. Sebut sesuai konteks kantor Anda.
- Memberi patokan: "It's downtown, near the station." / "It's a good location for clients."

Kesalahan Umum
- ❌ "Our office is on Jakarta." → ✅ "Our office is in Jakarta." (Untuk kota selalu pakai in, bukan on/at.)
- ❌ "We're in the 3rd floor." → ✅ "We're on the 3rd floor." (Untuk lantai pakai on, bukan in.)
- ❌ "Our headquarters is in Singapore." → ✅ "Our headquarters are in Singapore." (headquarters umumnya diperlakukan jamak → are.)
- ❌ "We're based at Surabaya." → ✅ "We're based in Surabaya." (based + in untuk kota; at hanya untuk alamat spesifik.)
